Strait Talk: Taiwan, China and the U.S.

On the 30th anniversary of the U.S.-Taiwan Relations Act, Dr. Vincent Wang of the University of Richmond (left) and Dr. Andrew Yang of National SunYat-sen University (via video link from Taipei) led a dialogue about prospects for Taiwan-Chinese economic and diplomatic relations and U.S. foreign policy in the region.

Urban Crime Prevention

An official from Business Against Crime, a South African company, will visit Boston as part of the U.S. State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program to meet with law enforcement officials, government and NGO leaders, and business people to learn about crime prevention and community policing.

University Development

Six university administrators from Georgia will meet their counterparts in Boston area universities to examine funding, philanthropy and financial planning. A further goal is to offer visitors a chance to see how diversity contributes to dynamism and resilient pluralism in the U.S. political system.

Come see this heartfelt and humorous documentary based on an earlier film by Howie Snyder about his experience studying classic Chinese stand-up comedy with a group of 8-year-olds in 1996. Howie tracks down his former classmates in the city that hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics, and through their often emotional reflections we learn about their lives and dreams for the future.
